The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program offers assistance to support youth to obtain their high school diploma or equivalency, attend postsecondary training (2 years or less), access work-based learning opportunities, and encourage youth through their education by offering case management and supportive services.
Services provided are based on individual need and availability of funding.
How to Apply
To complete an initial screening to determine if you are eligible for this program, please email [email protected], call 720.523.6898 to speak with a case manager for more information.
If eligible, you will complete an enrollment, provide eligibility documentation and get assigned a case manager who will assist with your career and education plans as well as provide services. If deemed ineligible, we will refer you to other programs and services.
Services
- Career pathway counseling provided by Youth Succeed staff
- Alternative schools service to achieve diploma or GED
- Financial assistance for 1-2 year career programs and professional certifications
- Financial support for educational needs
- Tutoring and study skills training
- Work-related skills workshops/training
- Paid and unpaid work experiences, including internships and job shadowing
- Referral to guidance and counseling for:
- Alcohol
- Drugs
- Mental Health
- Other
- Leadership development
- Summer employment opportunities
- Adult mentoring
- Work-based learning opportunities such as pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, and career academies
- Financial literacy education
- Entrepreneurial skills training
- Activities that help youth prepare for and transition to postsecondary education and training
- Services that provide labor market information
Eligibility Requirements
Youth can apply for this program if they meet the following requirements:
- Ages 16-24
- Low-income
- Face a challenge to employment
