What Is Governor's Summer Job Hunt?
The Governor's Summer Job Hunt is a free program throughout the state of Colorado to help young adults ages 14-24 find jobs and gain job readiness skills.
What Services Are Available?
Job Search
Assistance with job search, applications, resumes, cover letters, and interviews. Workshops on job readiness skills.
Volunteer Opportunities
Assistance locating community service opportunities for school, internships, youth boards, and youth councils.
Career Exploration
Assistance finding opportunities for job shadowing, business tours, career expos, competitions, and clubs.
How Can I Participate?
Young adults interested in employment can go to any American Job Center located throughout the state. These offices, including the Adams County Workforce & Business Center, are a place where young people can meet with a career center specialist who will assist them with job search activities and referrals. Background
The Governor's Summer Job Hunt program was established in 1981, and brings together classroom learning and on-the-job experience by matching young people's skills and interests with employment opportunities. Employment services are free, and are available to both employers and young adults ages 14 - 24.

Success
More than 500,000 young people have found summer employment since the program began in 1981. The program serves as a national model, receiving Presidential Awards in 1983 and 1993, and has been replicated in several cities across the United States.
