Adams County was moved to the Severe Risk Red Level by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The new restrictions will go into effect Friday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m., and will remain in effect until Friday, Dec. 18.

Drive-Thru Farmers Markets and Resource Outreach

The Adams County Human Services and Community Safety & Well-Being Departments are working together to hold FREE Drive-Thru Community Farmers Market and Resource Outreach events. Each participating household will receive a fresh produce box with:

Fresh fruits and vegetables • Loaf of bread • 12 eggs

All boxes have been claimed for the Nov. 24-25 events. Please check back after Nov. 30 to see when sign-ups begin for future dates.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 30, 5-7 p.m.: The MAC, 3295 W. 72nd Ave., Westminster
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14, 4-6 p.m.: Bennett Recreation Center, 455 S. 1st St., Bennett
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28, 5-7 p.m.: Welby Community School, 1200 E. 78th Ave., Denver
  • Tuesday, Nov. 10, 4:30-6:30 p.m.: Human Services Center, 11860 Pecos St., Westminster **All Boxes Claimed**
  • Saturday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Operation FreeBird at the Denver Merchandise Mart, 451 E. 58th Ave., Denver Due to the cancellation of Operation FreeBird, we are looking for an alternate date and location.
  • Week of Thanksgiving (two events, 300 boxes each): The MAC, 3295 W. 72nd Ave., Westminster
    • Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1-5 p.m. ** All Boxes Taken **
    • Wednesday, Nov. 25, 4:30-6:30 p.m. ** All Boxes Taken **
    • These events will include the farmers market box, a $20 gift card for a turkey, and a resource flyer
  • Wednesday, Dec. 16, 4:30-6:30 p.m.; Riverdale Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton

 

The Human Services Center will be closed on Mondays and open to the public Tuesday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. through the month of June. Staff will work remotely on Mondays. Extended hours will be introduced in July.

If you want to apply, redetermine benefits, or submit verification for public assistance programs, please submit information online at Colorado Program Eligibility and Application Kit (PEAK). PEAK can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Food Benefits

Don’t lose your food benefits! Be sure to return your “Notice to Reapply” form by the due date listed on your document.

You can submit your paperwork:

  1. Online at Colorado.gov/PEAK or on the My CO Benefits app available through the Apple and Google Play app stores
  2. Over the phone through Hunger Free Colorado, 720.382.2920
  3. In person at Adams County Human Services Center located at 11860 Pecos St., Westminster. A secure drop box is available outside the main entrance.

Make sure your paperwork is signed and your case number is listed on the front of any documents you provide. Be proactive! Turn in proof of all current income in your home and respond to “Request for More Information” letters. We may need to speak with you regarding your reapplication. To avoid a delay in your benefits, please answer incoming calls from 720.523.2000 and keep an eye out for appointment letters in the mail.
