Overview

  • Parks Administration
  • Parks and Trails Maintenance
  • Special Event Administration
  • Special Event Set Up
  • Public Art Administration
  • CSU Extension & 4-H

Goals of the internship

  • Develop skills in the various areas of work listed above.
  • Expand your oral and written communication skills to learn how to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Increase your relationship-building skills to understand and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Nurture leadership skills to build strong relationships, create a culture of learning, and recognize and celebrate achievements.
  • Develop skills to recognize aspects of work culture and formal and informal networks.

  • Complete and submit all application forms PRIOR to beginning your internship. 
  • Perform intern work responsibilities in a professional manner. 
  • Abide by all policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines of the site while participating in your internship. 
  • Participate, assist, and observe in a variety of program areas.
  • Be prompt, responsible, respectful, and self-motivated during all internship-related activities or work experiences. 
  • Maintain a mature and professional relationship with clients, staff, and peers. 
  • Exhibit and practice behaviors as a positive role model for the field and in representation of the school or program.

Internship Information

  • Paid internship.
  • Eight weeks. 
  • Part-time or full-time.
  • Certificate will be awarded.
  • Letter of recommendation provided after the internship is completed successfully.
  • Could potentially lead to a permanent position at POSCA.
