Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption

Qualification Requirements

In 2006, Colorado voters approved Referendum E, expanding the senior property tax exemption to include "qualifying disabled veterans." To qualify, the veteran must have received a "permanent and total" disability rating from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs due to a service-connected disability. Qualifying disabled veterans who have owned and occupied the property as their primary residence as of January 1 of this year may apply.

Application forms are available below as well as through the Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs. They may be contacted at 303.343.1268. The application deadline is July 1.
