Capital Project Update

Pelican PondsPelican Ponds is a 200-acre open space property located along the west bank of the South Platte River at 9200 Riverdale Rd., Thornton, and is a new project for the county.

The project is substantially complete and includes trails and walking paths along with small shelters and fishing along the ponds further into the property. It also connects to the South Platte River Trail and is currently open for use. There is still some minor grading and seeding to be completed adjacent to the shade shelter near Riverdale Road.
