UPDATE July 20, 2018 – The Regional Transportation District (RTD) has received approval from the Federal Railroad Administration to begin the next phase of testing on the G Line. Starting Friday, July 20, testing is ramping up and will soon simulate the full daily service schedule of nearly 21 consecutive hours each day. During the next few months, the public will see an increase in the number of trains running each day and should be alert for trains on the tracks at any time, coming from either direction. During the testing, train horns will be sounding. Read full RTD press release.

The project will be conducting testing two nights this week outside normal testing hours. These times will be as follows and will be through the entirety of the Gold Line. Train horns will continue to be used at crossings:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7-11 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 13, 7-11 p.m.

G Line Overview

Safety Tips

  • Never trespass on any train track - it is illegal and dangerous.
  • Cross the tracks only at designated crossings, always follow safety signage, and obey warning devices like flashing red lights and gate arms.
  • Stay alert and look both ways for a train - you may not hear them coming.
  • Stay off station platforms until they are open to the public.

Power lines along the G Line are turned on. These wires hold 25,000 volts of electricity and can be extremely dangerous. RTD asks everyone to please stay away from the tracks and the wires and never try to touch or throw anything at them. Trespassing in active work zones is illegal and can be dangerous.
