Dr. Bernadette Albanese is a pediatric infectious disease specialist and medical epidemiologist at Tri-County Health Department. As a public health professional, Dr. Albanese specializes in communicable disease control, outbreak investigations, disease surveillance, and studying health trends in the population.

 

Samantha DeckerSamantha Decker, School Health Policy and Prevention Coordinator & Registered Dietician, Tri-County Health Department

Samantha is a registered dietician serving as the School Health Policy and Prevention Coordinator at Tri-County Health Department. In this capacity, she leads agency-wide efforts to proactively support school districts and ensure efficient and effective use of resources to meet the public health needs of school aged children in the Tri-County jurisdiction. She partners with school district leaders to assist in addressing shared goals and collaborates with statewide and community partners as well as TCHD programs to achieve sustainable, population-based outcomes to enhance student health, wellbeing, and readiness to learn. Over the past year, she has been involved in the COVID-19 public health response, supporting schools with health and safety plans.

Clay CunninghamClay Cunningham, Chief Operations Officer, Community Reach Center

Clay Cunningham currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Community Reach Center, the community mental health center serving residents of the northern metro Denver area.  Community Reach Center serves approximately 20,000 individuals of all ages annually and employs 500+ staff. Prior to taking on the COO role, Clay served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance, which also included the roles of Corporate Compliance Officer and HIPAA Privacy Officer.
Prior to working at Community Reach Center, Clay served as the Adult Recovery Services Program Director for Peak Wellness Center in Laramie, Wyoming, supervising a team of clinicians, case managers, and peer support specialists that primarily served the SPMI population. Clay received his master’s degree in Counseling Education with an emphasis in Community Counseling and his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is Certified in Healthcare Compliance.

Chris GdowskiChris Gdowski, Superintendent, Adams 12 Five Star Schools

Superintendent of Adams 12 Five Star Schools; Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Chris has a strong connection to Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Chris attended school in the district and graduated from Thornton High School. He served as the district's lead outside legal counsel for many years, transitioning in 2006 to the in-house general counsel role. He has served as superintendent since November 2009. During his tenure as Superintendent, the district has consistently improved. Chris has led the work in improving the graduation rate by more than 20 percent, including reducing the gap between white and Hispanic students to less than half the state average; seeing improved school accountability ratings so that 80 percent of the district's schools are accredited as “performance”, the state’s highest rating, up from 50 percent just three years ago; narrowing and eliminating gaps in district performance in English language arts and mathematics as compared to state averages; and launching a STEM continuum that has drawn interest and accolades at the state, national, and international levels. Of the 20 Colorado school districts serving 10,000 or more students, the Five Star District is the most improved in the state's accountability system since 2014. He serves on a variety of boards with connections to Adams County and to public education, including the Metro North Chamber of Commerce; Adams County Education Consortium (past chair); Adams County Economic Development; Adams County Youth Initiative (past chair); Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain; Public Education and Business Coalition; and the Denver Area School Superintendents Council (DASSC) (past chair).
