Tri-County Health Department Rescinds Option for Counties to Opt Out of Public Health Orders

Yesterday, Tri-County Health Department’s (TCHD) Board of Health voted to rescind their policy on allowing opt outs to countywide public health orders by Board of Commissioners, specifically regarding the recent mask order for children ages 2-11, and put a universal mask order in place for all schools in Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas counties regardless of vaccination status. The new order goes into effect on Wednesday, Sept. 1, through Friday, Dec. 31, unless amended, extended, or rescinded.

“Our board is unified in applauding the TCHD board for removing the opt out provision in the mask order and for rescinding and replacing the public health order,” said Adams County Commissioner Eva J. Henry, board chair.
