Gov. Hickenlooper orders flags lowered in honor of Deputy Zackari Parrish

DENVER — Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, from sunrise until sunset to honor Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Zackari Parrish as he is laid to rest.

Parrish, 29, died in the line of duty on Dec. 31, 2017, of injuries sustained while responding to an incident in Highlands Ranch.  He has been with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for seven months. Before joining the Sheriff’s Office, he worked for the Castle Rock Police Department.

Parrish is survived by his wife and two daughters.
