Femmi Clemons Appointed Veteran Service Officer

The Adams County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Femmi Clemons as the new Veteran Service Officer (VSO) for the county.

Femmi, a U.S. Army veteran, has three and a half years’ tenure at Adams County. In that time, she’s been dedicated to expanding the visibility of the office through intradepartmental informational sessions, outreach, and special group development for Adams County veterans.

“Femmi’s military background and passion for helping her fellow veterans over the past few years make her the ideal choice for the VSO position,” said Eva J. Henry, Chair, Board of County Commissioners. “Adams County veterans will truly benefit under her leadership.”

She was instrumental in the development of the Women’s Vet 2 Vet group and introducing internal and external programs such as the Veterans Yoga Class, Vietnam Veterans Group, Superhero Group and Volleyball, and the Connecting and Supporting Military and Veterans affinity group.

“Femmi is a fantastic choice to lead our Veterans Service Office,” said County Manager Raymond H. Gonzales. “She truly cares about the veterans in our community and has great vision on how we can best serve our former service members.”

Femmi has offered growth and educational opportunities in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the department and the Veterans Administration (VA) through A-Proud—Adams County’s DEI committee. She also delivered one of the first unconscious bias trainings offered at a state VA level to the VSOs in Colorado.

The Veteran Service Office is located on the main level of the Human Services Center, 11860 Pecos St., Westminster. Learn more at adcogov.org/veterans-service-office.
