Purchasing Process & Regulations

One of the main duties of the Purchasing Division is to procure products and services under guidelines adopted by the Board of County Commissioners. View the following regulations surrounding the processing of various county purchase requests:

  • Bids are not required for projects under $5,000.
  • Informal Bids (see Purchasing Policy 1050) are required for projects between $5,000 and $25,000
  • Formal Bids/Proposals are required for all projects $25,000 and up.
  • Issue Invitation for Bid (IFB) / Request for Proposal (RFP)
