Floodplain Management

Floodplain Management provides a variety of services specifically dealing with drainage, including: 

  • Flood hazard and drainage master planning studies, both County specific and in cooperation with other local entities        
  • Administration of Flood Control Overlay regulations and issuance of Flood Plain Use Permits
  • Local review and approval of Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) letters of map change (LOMCs)
  • Assistance to residents and businesses with drainage and flood control problems associated with public infrastructure
  • Cooperation and coordination with other jurisdictions to ensure the minimization of flood risk
